Braum’s has announced they will begin construction on a new state-of-the-art store in Amarillo that will replace the current store located at 4629 South Western. The current store, built in June 1986, closed at the end of business on Sunday, August 12th and demolition/construction began immediately. If all goes as planned, Braum’s company officials hope to open their new “W” store model early next year.
The new Amarillo “W” store design is the company’s largest state-of-the-art store with a completely new look and feel – inside and out. The building will be 5,756 (five thousand seven hundred fifty six) square feet with a stacked stone exterior and composition gabled roof. The store’s interior will have open beamed ceilings and track lighting. The dining area, with its colorful tables and booths, will seat 86 guests. The “Fresh Market” grocery area will be much larger to accommodate Braum’s growing product offerings. Employees currently working at the Amarillo store have been transferred to nearby Braum’s locations until store construction has been completed.
